American Water to Share Industry Leadership and Insights at American Water Works Association Annual Conference

VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Water (NYSE: AWK), the nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, announced today the company will share its expertise at the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference (ACE17) from June 11-14 in Philadelphia, Pa. American Water will have a strong presence at the conference with 14 expert presenters participating in 22 sessions throughout one of the industry’s top gatherings.

“As a leader in the water industry, American Water is excited to participate in ACE and share our advanced technology and innovations while also learning from our peers,” said Walter Lynch, chief operating officer, American Water. “We all have the same goal of satisfying customers’ needs. This conference is a great forum for industry leaders to come together and share ideas, best practices and create connections.”

American Water is challenged to find innovative ways to operate at the lowest possible cost for the benefit of the company and its customers. From the company’s unique Innovation Development Process that leverages its position and expertise to develop, test and promote new technologies for industry use, to deploying 1,000 acoustical leak detectors to identify non-surfacing leaks, American Water will demonstrate its technological knowledge at the following sessions:

Ruth Gavel, engineering project manager with New Jersey American Water, and Rachel Beam, engineering project manager with Pennsylvania American Water, will receive the Kenneth J. Miller’s Founders Award for their respective AWWA section committees. The award was established in 2001 to honor outstanding volunteers for their service and leadership in the advancement of Water For People’s mission at the local committee and regional levels.
